To engage the young public Star City Corvettes has begun impromptu
Kid's Choice Awards. These spontaneous competitions can occur when the
club is gathered at parades, local car shows, or out for a meal.
SCC member, Brian, explains the contest to the accompanying adult, then the kids become the judges. After viewing each car, the kids pick their favorite corvette using whatever criteria they want. The guest judges are given a Hotwheel car of their choosing as a thank you for participating.
Our youngest judge yet - holding her new car. From the safety of her mother’s arms she chose the “blue“ one. First time win for Brian, normally he disqualifies himself when he is walking with the judges.
These kids are judging SCC cars.
Two boy scouts took time from their service project, delivering lunch, to judge. The rule that both must agree on the winning car, caused an intense discussion.
The boys finally choose Chuck's 1962 as the day's winner.
Our guest judge was also winner himself in the kid's Box Float competition. He is indicating the winning corvette to Brian, as his mom looks on, and he is pointing at you Denny (while Carolyn happened to be taking his picture).
Denny used a new strategy to draw the judge's attention,
a Woodland Nymph riding on the deck of the vette.
For the 2nd time in a row Bill won the Kid’s Choice Award. Guest judges were two brothers waiting for their lunch. Bill also won last month, he has a unique strategy of bring a different corvette each time.
